Asus ProArt StudioBook One and Studio Book Pro X are laptops for really demanding users. They offer great displays, powerful 9-generation Intel processors and GeForce RTX graphics. It is a pity that the manufacturer did not focus on a slightly more interesting design.
ProArt is a new series of Asus laptops for “creative professionals” who – for certain reasons – prefer to work in a Windows environment rather than MacBooks or other devices with the Apple system. At IFA, Asus presented the Asus ProArt StudioBook One and Studio Book Pro X models.
Asus ProArt StudioBook One
StudioBook impresses with the specification. The laptop has been equipped with a 15.6-inch 4K screen protected by Gorilla Glass 5 with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Here we find an Intel i9-9980HK processor & a Nvidia Quadro RTX 6000 graphics card. Additionally, the laptop has 32 GB of RAM and NVMe SSDs with a capacity of 1 TB.
In the case of such a “beast” the biggest problem is cooling. Asus claims that it coped with this challenge by using a new cooling system, with a titanium thermal system that prevents the laptop from getting warm. Interestingly (and unusual), cooling was placed behind the screen.
Asus ProArt StudioBook X
The second of the new Asus models is the 17-inch ProArt Studio Book X. While StudioBook One offers quite strong specifications, the “X” model is already the equipment for the most demanding. The device has a display in WUXGA (1920 x 1080) resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio. Asus boasts that the ratio of screen to housing here is as much as 92 percent, which in the case of laptops is an impressive result .
StudioBook X comes in several powerful configurations – with the Xeon E-2276M or Intel Core i7 9750H processor. We will also find graphics Nvidia Quadro RTX 6000. It is one of the most powerful systems that we can find in laptops, and its power reaches 14.9 teraflops. Added to this is an SSD drive with a capacity of up to 6 TB and up to 128 GB of RAM.
In the case of StudioBook X, attention is also drawn to the unusual touchpad with a built-in screen, which displays, among others most useful application shortcuts. This is Asus’ answer to the famous TouchBar in MacBooks.
The biggest problem of both devices seems completely bland design. In the case of laptops for “creative professionals” this may not be the most important determinant. However, you should not forget about it. Asus could also bet on the original colors. Instead, we have safe gray.
For now, we don’t know the prices of the devices. Given the powerful specification, it’s safe to assume that for the StudioBook X, the price of the most powerful configurations will reach up to 10 -13 thousand USD.
