Britain allows Huawei to participate in 5G construction to gain world-leading technology

On January 28, the British government announced that Huawei was allowed to participate in 5G network deployment. Huawei Vice President Zhang Jiangang responded to this, which enabled the United Kingdom to obtain world-leading technology while ensuring a competitive market.

The following is the full text of Zhang Jiangang’s response:

The British government confirms that Huawei can continue to work with customers to maintain 5G deployment progress. This evidence-based decision will bring more advanced, secure and cost-effective telecommunications infrastructure to the UK to meet future development requirements. This gives the UK access to world-leading technology while ensuring a competitive market.

We have been providing cutting edge technology to British Telecom operators for more than 15 years. We will build on this proven track record to support our customers in investing in 5G networks, promote economic growth, and help the UK maintain its global competitiveness.

We agree that a diversified supplier market and fair competition are essential to improve network reliability, promote innovation, and ensure that consumers have access to the best technology.
