Prince Harry and his wife withdraw from the role of high-ranking royals

Prince Harry and his wife, Princess Merghan Markle, unexpectedly announced their “retirement” as senior members of the British royal family planning to look forward to a financially independent future.

NBC News called the move a “separate Brexit” by the famous British royal couple.

“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen. It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment. We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages. This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity. We look forward to sharing the full details of this exciting next step in due course, as we continue to collaborate with Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and all relevant parties. Until then, please accept our deepest thanks for your continued support.” – The Duke and Duchess of Sussex For more information, please visit sussexroyal.com (link in bio) Image © PA

Both hope to “create a new progressive role in the current institution”. Prince Harry and Princess Meghan emphasized that they “stepped out of the senior royal family position” and aimed for financial independence, but continued to support the queen with all their might.

The couple did not consult anyone else in the royal family about their decision. There are rumors of internal disappointment in the decision of Prince Harry and his wife. Many royal members felt hurt upon hearing the news. In a statement released just hours after the couple’s posting, Buckingham Palace said the situation was “complicated”.

“Discussions with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at an early stage. We understand their aspirations for change. However, there are many complex issues that take time to resolve,” the statement said.

The couple also revealed their plans to share time in the UK and the US , the home of Princess Meghan.

“This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son to both appreciate the royal tradition of his birth and give our family more space to focus on the chapter. life’s success, including opening a new charity, “posted Harry and Meghan.

The development may mean that the couple will have a more private life as they always wanted. They retired from the royal system but chose to continue to participate in some aspects that they felt appropriate, such as family matters and supportive work for Queen Elizabeth II.

Prince Harry and Meghan’s family are under great scrutiny from the British media. In October 2019, the couple said that Princess Meghan will sue the Sunday publication of the Mail , accusing the newspaper of illegally posting a letter from the princess to her father.

Prince Harry also publicly defended his wife. He said that the British media was having a cruel campaign against Meghan. He said British media had similar attacks against their deceased mother, Princess Diana, in 1997, when a paparazzi chased his mother’s car, leading to an accident.
