Samsung launched the fingerprint drive with SSD security

samsung has just introduced the external hard drive version T7 Touch at CES 2020.
The most prominent feature of the T7 Touch is the integration of additional fingerprint security capabilities to protect user files. In addition, the read and write speed is twice the previous version.

According to Samsung , users can register up to 4 different fingerprints on the T7 Touch, meaning that you can easily share data with friends or relatives as you like.

The T7 Touch 2020 is equipped with an indicator light that displays when the drive is plugged in and transmitting data. This is a pretty useful feature, but it’s unclear why Samsung always omitted it on previous SSDs.

With a solid aluminum frame, Samsung says the SSD can withstand drops from around 2 meters. In addition, the device will have only a single USB-C port and can be connected with a USB-C to USB-C or USB-C to USB-A cable.

Samsung says the T7 Touch has a write speed of up to 1,000 MB / s and a read speed of 1,050 MB / sec. This is a figure that is said to be twice as fast compared to T5.

The T7 Touch will go on sale at the end of January for $ 129.99 for the 500 GB version, $ 229.99 for the 1 TB version and $ 399.99 for the 2 TB version. Plus, another version of the T7 Touch doesn’t have a fingerprint reader on shelves in the second quarter of 2020.
